About the Artist
Mairi McLeod is a Scottish Born self- taught artist living in Twickenham, London. Mairi mostly creates abstract artwork but enjoys exploring a wide range of subjects including cityscapes, flowers and animals. Although Mairi enjoys working mainly in acrylics on canvas or wood, her work often includes a wide variety of mediums including: inks, pastels, moulding paste, gilding
paper and gold leaf.
Mairi is also inspired and excited by new experiences and learning about different cultures. Her work is often reflective of her travels and you may recognise the inspiration behind some of her works. Following a recent trip to Japan, Mairi has been busy painting her Japanese Collection using lots of
vibrant colours on wood. Mairi has exhibited in a range of galleries and her paintings can be found hanging in homes in several countries around the globe. Mairi has also studied the use of art for therapy and we are sure you will find her art sessions full of colour and wonder.
She says “It is my firm belief that art and nature are crucial for emotional well - being. Being in nature allows space for the creative brain to flourish and I encourage participants to join me in making art from natural materials, exploring different forms of mark making.
